BBC LISTENING POD

A competition entry for the BBC. It intends to invite the public to come and tell their stories, so that it can be recorded and archived for future generations to listen to.

The proposal explored bespoke prefabricated parts/segments which are light-weight, robust, and small enough for two people to assemble and disassemble. The unusual curved exterior form mimicking the shape of a seashell simplifies the assembly process as each piece is unique in shape and interlocks with one another. As a whole, it provides a cosy, sinuous interior, attempting to meet the required airborne and impact sound requirements and allow the individuals to share their anecdotes in a comfortable, quiet environment.
