National Building and Construction Awards Finalists

Weave Architects are delighted to be nominated as finalists in the NBCA 2024, up to £10 million category.

Pont House is in Darras Hall, an estate historically known as “Garden City of the North” that joins Ponteland village in a rural outskirt of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. A small stream that crosses the rear garden of the house joins River Pont, and deer dwell in the small forest beyond the open countryside.

It is a family home of sustainable designs that welcomes modern open-plan living, and merges the incredible rural outdoor and countryside with the interiors in the formal composition. External views are framed to take into its setting, and through large glazings and high-level rooflights natural daylight floods the interior creating a sense of volume and space.

St John’s Wood Terrace

Weave Architects have successfully been granted planning permission for a redevelopment proposal in the St John’s Wood Conservation Area, Westminster.

The scheme is a large open plan rear extension featuring a kitchen/living/dining space. It will bring a stronger connection with the unique, series of garden spaces meticulously looked after by the client.

WA have worked closely with the client and the local council to achieve a well considered proposal. Weave Architects are particularly delighted to unlock the potential of the lower ground floor, making this area a desirable, multi-functional space and hopefully will become the new heart of the house.
